What is Community Housing?
MICDA Community Housing Program are targeted at low to moderate income households and members of the local community that require affordable housing.
We provide subsidised rental accommodation aimed at supporting short-term transitional and longer-term housing. MICDA assists eligible clients who are listed on the Department of Housing and Public Work’s housing register and who are in the greatest need.
Rent is calculated according to total assessable household income. As a community housing provider MICDA cannot assess your application for housing assistance. The Department of Housing and Public Works refers eligible clients to MICDA.
We currently deliver the following housing programs:
- Community Rent Scheme
- Long Term Community Housing
What is Community Rent Scheme?
Community Rent Scheme (CRS) is a housing assistance program funded by the Queensland Government through the Department of Housing and Public Works. MICDA CRS offers transitional housing, which is not long-term social housing for eligible clients.
